As told by the reporter from Tianjin Binhai International Airport, this January, passenger throughput of Binhai Airport was 522,000 person times, up 33.3% year-on-year; and cargo throughput was 17000 tons, a year-on-year growth of 82.1%. That was a good start for the airport. 

In 2010, passenger and cargo throughput of Binhai Airport maintains its steady growth. In terms of the high growth rate over that of last year as revealed by statistical data, though we need to consider the factor of impacts from flight cancellations of OKAIR and international financial crisis on the passenger and cargo throughput in January 2009, the passenger throughput up to 522,000 person times, still far more than the monthly average of previous year, which has approached that of peak time like during the summer vacation (530,000 person times in July and 570,000 person times in August) and in October (547,000 person times). At the end of January, the earlier arrived peak time of passenger transport during the Spring Festival had made the number of passengers entering and leaving the airport reach a daily average of 19,000 person times and the average departure load factor of the whole month also grew by 5-6% over ordinary time.

As for cargo throughput, based on past statistics, cargo market begins to enter the slack season in January each year. This January, not only the cargo flights of Binhai Airport saw some increases over previous month, load factor also grew by 2% over December, making the total freight volume reach 17,000 tons.
