The project of Tanggu-Hanggu expressway, extending from the north to the south, is designed for mixed traffic while focusing on passenger transport. It has been listed into the comprehensive transport planning system of Binhai New Area and is to be completed within this year. When completed, it will further facilitate the transport between Hanggu and Tanggu and minimize the travel time between the Tanggu and Hanggu to only 15 minutes.

It is learned that Tanggu-Hangu expressway spreads a total of 14.35 km and mainly covers Tanggu and Hangu (inc.Qinghe farm of Beijing). The expressway adopts the urban expressway standards of two-way six lanes and the designed speed of vehicles is 80 km per hour. As the only north-south expressway running through the park area, Tanggu-Hangu expressway leads to Hangu New City in the north and reaches the core area of Binhai New Area in the south. The expressway project includes engineering of bridges, roads, transport, landscape and others. In the expressway engineering, Yongding New River Bridge is an oversize bridge and comprises south approach bridge, main bridge and north approach bridge. It has two layers and each layer has two-way six lanes. Tanggu-Hangu expressway, after entering service, will greatly shorten the travel time between Tanggu and Hangu.
