In order to continue to build an easy and convenient transport network in connection with other provinces and cities, Binhai New Area will expedite to upgrade the functions of the port and airport, open railway and road arteries between regions, and improve the mainframe of the road network, thus to build an efficient and easy integrated transport system which are precisely connected and reaches the hinterland.

According to our knowledge, this year, Binhai New Area will start the construction of Tianjin-Shijiazhuang expressway, advance the already commenced No. 112 national road and Tanggu-Chengde, Tianjin-Shantou, Tianjing-Ninghe and Tianjing-Dagang expressways, strengthen the connections with the hinterland, and develop 10 outbound transport passages. In terms of railways, it will speed up the construction of Yujiabao station, the largest comprehensive transport hub of Binhai New Area, which is expected to be finished in 2011. After the completion, it will take only 45 minutes to travel between Beijing and Tianjin Binhai New Area. Among railways under construction to neighboring areas, Binhai station of Tianjin-Qinhuangdao high-speed railway is expected to be put into full use in 2011. After the railway is completed, one needs only 1 hour to travel between Binhai New Area and Qinhuangdao. Tianjin-Qinhuangdao railway connects Qinghuangdao-Shenyang passenger dedicated line in the north, Beijing-Tianjin intercity railway in the west and Beijing-Shanghai express railway in the south. Once it is finished, an express passenger traffic route running through the Northeast Central China, East China and Central and Southern China will come into being. As to port and airport, this year, Binhai New Area will stress the construction of projects like 300,000-ton navigation channel of Tianjin Port, expansion of Binhai International Airport (Phase II), and international cruise ship homeport. In addition, it will fully upgrade the scale and standards of facilities of the port and airport and make the cargo throughput break 400 million tons and passenger throughput of airport reach 7 million person times.
